Why Ultragloss Doesn’t Offer Rust Repair
At Ultragloss, we take pride in providing high-quality, long-lasting cosmetic repairs — the kind of work that helps your vehicle look great and stay that way. One service we don’t offer is rust repair, and there’s a good reason for that.
It’s not that we don’t want to help. It’s that rust simply can’t be repaired reliably without cutting and welding — and that type of structural work doesn’t align with the fast, affordable, and lasting cosmetic repairs we specialize in.
Why Rust Can’t Be “Fixed” with Filler or Paint
Rust begins when metal is exposed to moisture and oxygen. Once it starts, it spreads beneath the paint and body surface — often much farther than what you can see.
Even if you sand down the visible rust, there’s almost always more corrosion hiding underneath. Some shops or DIY methods might try to:
Sand the surface
Apply body filler
Paint over the area
But that doesn’t remove the rust; it only covers it up. The corrosion continues to grow beneath the surface and eventually bubbles back through the paint. It may take weeks or months, but it always returns.
The Only Real Way to Fix Rust
The only permanent solution to rust is to:
Cut out the affected metal completely
Weld in new, clean metal
Seal, prime, and repaint the area
This process is labor-intensive, expensive, and requires specialized welding and fabrication equipment — the kind typically found in full collision or restoration shops.
Why It’s Not a Service We Offer
Ultragloss focuses on cosmetic, non-structural repairs — such as paint refinishing, rim restoration, headlight restoration, dent repair, and interior repair.
Because rust repair requires cutting, welding, and rebuilding metal, it falls outside the scope of what we do best. Offering a temporary “patch” wouldn’t meet our standards for quality or durability — and we believe in doing work we can confidently stand behind.
Our Commitment to Quality
At Ultragloss, our reputation is built on trust, transparency, and results that last. If we can’t perform a repair the right way, we’d rather guide our customers toward a shop that specializes in that type of work than offer a fix that won’t hold up.
If your vehicle has rust damage, we’re happy to take a look, explain your options, and recommend the best next step — even if that means referring you to a shop equipped for full metal repair.
Bottom Line:
Rust repair done right requires cutting, welding, and rebuilding metal. Anything less is temporary — and that’s why Ultragloss focuses on the lasting, high-quality cosmetic repairs we’re known for.
